Redding Hunt Performs Dramatic Solo at Brenau

Brenau University presents “An Evening of Opera and Art Song" – a solo recital by dramatic soprano Keena Redding Hunt, 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11 in Pearce Auditorium, off Boulevard NE, Gainesville.

The program includes a wide range of favorites from Mozart’s “Porgi Amor” and Burleigh’s old Negro melody “Deep River” to Gershwin’s “My Man’s Gone Now” from the opera Porgy and Bess.

She will be accompanied by pianist Katherine Plympton.

Hunt, a Brenau Alumna and adjunct faculty member, currently serves as student services coordinator at the university’s Atlanta campus and earned her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Florida, School of Music. Her performance venues include the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, New York Parks and Recreation and the Atlanta Lyric Theatre.
