See World-Renown Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company at Brenau

Brenau University Dance Program presents the nationally recognized and world-renowned Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, in Pearce Auditorium.

According to Charlotte Boye-Christensen, associate artistic director of Ririe- Woodbury, the company is very modern in terms of repertoire and outlook. They have a “diverse group of dancers whose individuality, technical capabilities and dramatic potential have inspired a vast group of choreographers” she writes.

The 40-year-old, Salt Lake City, Utah-based company’s mission is to further contemporary dance by creating and performing original and innovative works of the highest quality, providing audiences with a variety of exciting and innovative choreographic styles in a single evening. Ririe-Woodbury strives to promote the understanding of and appreciation for the art form of dance.

“We are a company that has an emphasis on bringing dance to all ages,” says Christensen. “Our goal is to promote innovative, high qualitative work that challenges and moves audiences in the United States as well as around the world.”

Reserved seating is available now. Ticket prices: general public $25; Arts Council members $20; students w/ID $15. Call 770.534.6249.

This Ririe-Woodbury performance is supported in part from a grant by the National Endowment for the Arts.
