Brenau Academy is accredited by the Commission on Secondary Schools of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award secondary diplomas. The school is also approved by the Georgia Department of Education.

• The SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND MASS COMMUNICATION is accredited by the IACBE - International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education for all business programs undergraduate and graduate.

• EDUCATION: Brenau's teacher preparation programs are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education

• NURSING:
• The Nursing BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) (http://www.aacn.nche.edu/Accreditation/).
• The MSN program is accredited by the National League for Nursing - Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway, New York, NY, 10006, Telephone number 212.363.5555 and by the Georgia Board of Nursing, 237 Coliseum Drive, Macon, GA 31217-3858 Telephone 478.207.2440 . The program is given full approval by the GA board of nursing.

• ART AND DESIGN DEPARTMENT – 
• Interior Design Program: Since 1993, the Interior Design Program has been continuously accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, CIDA, (formerly FIDER). The program leads to a combined Bachelor of Fine Art/Masters of Interior Design. Accreditation in 2007 is for six years, which is the maximum awarded. As strengths of Brenau’s interior design program, the Commission’s reviews have noted the well-developed curriculum and the close relationships among the faculty, the community, industry, alumni, and the profession, and NCIDQ qualified faculty.
